PDH new look....new logo.. new slogan

PDH New Logo

Year 2015 came and PDH had a new packaging. We decided to have a new logo and a new slogan. We believe that change is inevitable and some changes are meant to improve, as we grow as an organization.

PDH Old logo
From the old logo, which we used to represent PDH a little over a year, we retained the pink, gray and black color scheme. We believe this represents our group which is described to be colorful, bubbly and distinct.

The old slogan was " Dogs Unite Us, Not Divide Us". This slogan served its purpose. Members were one and united in promoting PDH and were able to gather a handful of committed and active members. Others were quiet, still observing but we are hoping that someday they will be able to interact with us. As with every family (and other groups), we cannot avoid misunderstandings which led to some members (and friends) to leave. So, we thought the slogan needs some modifying, something that will really represent Pro Dog-a-Holic as a group and its members as individuals.

The logo is a silhouette of a pink puppy. Why silhouette? It is because we believe that PDH can be represented by any dog, with breeds and Aspins alike. Everyone is welcome, everyone is equal. The head is heart-shaped to represent our love for dogs, that we care for them and for each other. Credits to Ms.Mae Domingo for this very creative and original work of art.

Our new slogan is "We Inspire". With the countless dog groups coming out, we cannot avoid imitation. From how we run our group, to how we invite members, to how we encourage member interaction on the wall. Honestly, we (the admins) don't mind. In fact, we feel proud that others are inspired to copy what we have started. No copyright infringement made, no big deal. What is important is that everyone is happy.

OUR SLOGAN
"We Inspire"

Pro Dog-a-Holic is a Facebook group created in April 30, 2013 with sincere intentions of building a healthy online community of dedicated canine owners. We envision a group that shares the same compassion and enthusiasm for dogs to develop unity and friendship amongst us.

OUR VALUES

We believe that dogs contribute positively to our quality of life and have much to teach us about patience, respect, solidarity, responsibility, loyalty and unconditional love.

We believe every dog deserves to live out until their golden years, months, weeks or even days in a place of love, security and peace.

We believe dogs are not a disposable commodity; rather, they depend on us to care for them through all stages of their lives.

We believe in working with diverse organizations from across the country that share our fundamental values.

We believe in honest, respectful and open advice to fellow owners that would help preserve the quality of upbringing their dogs deserve.

We believe in providing educational support, advocacy, and sharing of best practices for those who are new to owning one and even to those who are producing to breed responsibly.

Doggie Picnic Day Up the Hills Part 2

We welcomed 2015 with a bang!
Our first major event for the year,

Doggie Picnic Day Up the Hills Part 2.

This is a sequel of the very first PDH Doggie Day Up the Hills last 2014. We received a positive feedback from the members which led us to organize a Part 2.

A week before the event, to promote and invite members to join, we had a number of online games in partnership with our sponsors. The members enjoyed and participated and the winners were announced during the event.

The venue was at Tagaytay Picnic Grove and it was a festive mood for everyone. Members started to come in early to enjoy the cool breeze of Tagaytay. We also welcomed walk in and those around the park who were curious with what is happening since they saw a pack of big and small dogs alike.

Mr. Dackie Beii
Founder - PDH
We started the event with a Puppy Class facilitated by Mr. Dackie Beii. The members were very attentive since this was aimed to share knowledge about their fur babies. They participated by asking questions and a token was given to them from our generous sponsors.
What is picnic without foods? Some members were generous enough to share food for everyone. It was indeed a very delectable feast.

Others also brought their own "baon", nevertheless, it was nice seeing all of us eating together, bonding like one big happy family.

After lunch, there was a pack walk since all of us were full.
We walked around the pack with the banners and tarpaulin of our sponsors.
We also had a group picture taking (of course) at the end of the walk.

When we arrived at the hall, the games started. The admins prepared a lot of games overflowing with prizes. Group and individual games were participated by eager members. There was a Scavenger Hunt sponsored by MySassy Puppy wherein the contestants need to go around the area to find the items on the list. A Finding Doggie game was also participated by some members. They need to look for doggie icons around the park. A surprise awaited the members who gets the logo of our sponsors. All Aboard was a newspaper dance game, though there was a twist. All participants need to stay in the newspaper without them stepping out. This was surely a fun game. So Blaster, one of our sponsors too, facilitated an owner and dog milk drinking contest. Everyone thought that the owners will be drinking a goat's milk. Not! We just led them to think that it's the milk that their doggies drank, it's just a fresh milk, of course. A pabitin full of prizes was lots of fun. They need to get the prizes with their mouth!

Make & Bake sponsored a cake Decorating contest. Participants enjoyed the game, even their doggies can't wait to eat the decorated cakes. This was very entertaining!

Lastly, St. Roche sponsored a Treasure Hunt Game. Participants need to go all around the venue to look for a particular station wherein they will be doing a consequence before being directed to the next one. They surely won an overflowing of prizes.

To all the members and non-members who shared their time with us during the Doggie Picnic Day Up the Hills yesterday, we are truly grateful.

We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did.

To Philippine Golden Retrievers and UNITED DOG LOVERS PHILIPPINES , thank you for the support!

All these generosity, we give back to We are Proud Guardians of Aspins & Puspins.

Words cannot express our gratitude to all of you. Congratulations to all of us....and that's because.... WE INSPIRE !

Le Cirque - 1st Grand Anniversary Pawty: Event Coverage

Pro Dog-a-Holic celebrated its 1st Anniversary at Le Cirque, held in Alabang Town Center last August 23.

It was a day of happiness and celebration as PDH members came out in force, all supporting the event that was for the benefit of the Pasig Dog Pound.

The event was moved from August 10 to August 23 as recommended by Alabang Town Center. However, a sudden downpour delayed the start of the event by a couple of hours.

The rain was more of a blessing though, as it made sure that there would be no rain during the event proper. The rain also cooled down the surroundings, making the place a bit more pleasant to be in.

When the rain stopped, the show started!

Along with the PDH members, the sponsors also came out en masse.

Nutrience
Frontline/Merial & EzyDog
My Sassy Puppy & True Iconic
Silk Creation
Hills Science Diet
Saint Roche
Royal Canin
Make & Bake
Also at Le Cirque were several activities that piqued the interest of the attendees.

There were a lot of giveaways and raffle prizes at Le Cirque. A LOT. The generosity of the sponsors never wavers!

There were also two major contests that showcased the creativity of the PDH members and the beauty of their dogs. The first one was the Hair S-pet-acular Battle and the second one was the Hat Parade.

There was also a magical performance by Rico the Magician!

Overall, Le Cirque was a very successful event that showed the togetherness and love that PDH members have for each other.

Through its first year, PDH went through several challenges that, while difficult, only made the group stronger and more united afterwards.

The loyalty of the true members of PDH, along with the resolve of the administrators of the group, will undoubtedly propel PDH to much greater heights on its second year.

Congratulations to all of us! Onwards to Year 2!
